How long can I stay in Cuba?
You can get an extended stay in Cuba for 30 days and then extend the visa again for 30 more days at any immigration department for the cost of 25 CUC. After this period of time you have to take a flight to Mexico or Nassau for example in order to stay longer. Canadians can get 90 days from the day they arrive and apply later for 90 more days. Passport must be valid six months past the end of the day you will return.
What is the cost of the VISA card (tarjeta del turista)?
15 to 25 EUROS.
Where do I get the VISA?
You can buy it in Cancun (250 MXN) and gateway airport on other countries in America Latina.
For Canadians you get it on the flight.
UK and Europe you would need a visa before boarding the flight.

Tips for a long term stay in Cuba
For a budget travellers:
Bring a bicycle, transportation in Cuba can be a hassle and sometimes expensive.
To move inside Havana try the new bus tours for 5 cuc a day and to go to other provinces check www.viazul.com for buses.
Do not bring food, soaps, toilet paper. You can get it in Cuba in any shop.
Bring a small laptop, you can go to the Cohiba hotel in Havana and connect by the lobby.
Bring mosquito repelent, miso, wasabi, mirin, nori, tabasco, stuff like these you no not find in Cuba and can make a difference. Food is easily accessible in farmers’ market (fresh fruits, vegetables, pork meat, lamb), prices are quite affordable, even for locals. In Villa Cojimar accommodation you can find fresh fish from locals through casa owners.
Bring pills for your stomach, headaches, stuff like excedrin you do not find in Cuba. Alka-Seltzer is sometimes found in Hotels’ pharmacies (Taquechel in Old havana or the one in Habana Libre Hotel).
